The Motivator

Guelph-Wellington Federal Riding Association Newsletter
Issue 1 - February 1, 1999

Due to Popular Request, the Executive of the Guelph-Wellington Riding Association of the CHRISTIAN HERITAGE PARTY OF CANADA is printing The Motivator

The Christian Heritage Party is growing. As a result of this, we want all of our members and supporters to witness this formation from the beginning. I can remember as a child, planting vegetable seeds in our family garden. It was my privilege to watch as, week by week, plants sprouted, grew and bore fruit. This is the miracle of life arising from a tiny seed.

In the same way, the Christian Heritage Party of Canada will take on new life. You are invited to join us in witnessing the unfolding and blossoming of a political party whose time has come. There is a need for moral integrity and truth in our government.

We trust that you will celebrate with us the rise of the Christian Heritage Party.

Human decency scorned

Looking back over the 20th century, one finds it characterized by the greatest mass murders in history. A curious, indeed novel, aspect of this is the reason for 20th century mass murder. It has generally been cold blooded killing on the basis of abstract ideas.

The communists butchered millions, simply because of their perceived membership in the middle or upper classes. They did this to advance the inevitable march of history to a classless society. Arguments against this on the basis of mercy or common humanity were irrelevant.

The Nazi's eliminated so-called undesirables by the millions on the basis of Friedrich Nietzsche's master race theories and Charles Darwin's teaching of the survival of the fittest. Greatness for Nietzsche was the ability to inflict great suffering without qualms of conscience. Appeals to kindness or human decency were scorned.

Today in Canada, abortionists put to violent death over 100,000 of the weakest and most defenceless members of the human race every year. They do this by violation of the womb, the greatest place and symbol of protection for the unborn innocent. This monstrous evil is once again justified and indeed promoted, by an appeal to abstract ideas. Secular humanism includes among its human rights, the right of a women to kill or to spare her unborn child.

CONTEST

At the January 19th meeting of the Ontario Council of the CHP, a motion was passed to double the Ontario membership in one year.

In order to assist this, a prize has been offered to the individual who sells the most new CHP memberships or renewals by the March 20th meeting. The prize consists of a two-night stay in Niagara Falls at Michael's Inn, with certain meals provided. The value of this prize is $170. The contest is open to all Christian Heritage Party members in Ontario. (We would like to see the prize awarded to someone who receives 'The Motivator'.)

Please contact Hank Metzlar at 763-9443 for CHP membership application books.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Peter Ellis on being voted in as President of the Ontario Council of the Christian Heritage Party. Peter was our Guelph-Wellington candidate in the last Federal election. It was all that I could do to keep up to his energy in knocking on doors, organizing and attending all-candidates meetings. We wish Peter every blessing and hope that he doesn't tire out too many Ontario Council members at a time.

NO COMPROMISING!

Once upon a time, when I was only a couple of years in Canada, a young entrepreneur landed a contract with a large paper company. For the first time he had nearly 100 men working for him and he needed a clerk. I got that job. While I was still working for him, a union began to organize his workers and won the right to bargain for them. The boss did not like this at all and was going to fight that to the end. He lost right at the start because the first thing the union demanded was:

1.     all the employees had to become members of the union.

2.     all the employees had to have their union dues deducted off of their pay.

These were the first things that the boss gave in to, thereby giving away the right of the employees to join the union of THEIR choice and also giving away part of THEIR wages. That was what the union wanted MOST and he couldn't care LESS.

Most people honour their principles until they think that it will cost them money. Most people are against abortion, euthanasia, etc., etc., but at election time they look first at which party promises the most, and/or the party that seems to have the biggest chance to win. Their reasoning goes something like this: "Canada is not a Christian country anymore; so God has no chance to win; so I'm going to vote for mammon."

Instead of letting the government know through the polls that we don't like their moral and immoral laws, quite a few Christians show that they are just as greedy as the world or perhaps even more. Is that perhaps why God can't win? Is that why He has to send floods, ice storms, drought and too much rain in various places in order to call us to repentance? Will we ever learn not to compromise our principles?
